Warranty & Legal information

RSNAV (hereafter 'We', 'RSNAV', 'RSNAV.com') offers the following warranty terms and conditions. A buyer (hereafter 'You') may cancel your order without penalty prior to the product shipping. Products cancelled or refused after the product has shipped will incur shipping and handling charges as well as a 20% restocking fee. Products may be returned within the first 15 days after purchase and are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Products must be new, unused and in their original packaging to qualify for a refund. Refund is only allowed if you have a valid reason approved by RSNAV representative within 15 days from receiving the product. Only a store credit can be given after the 15 day period has lapsed. In any case, you must bear the shipping cost of the product return first. Initial shipping fees paid are not refundable.

RSNAV offers 12 months factory limited warranty on 'defective product' against defective material and/or workmanship unless the merchandise has been sold with final sales notice or discontinuation notice. Software and third party supplied accessories are not subject to this warranty.

A 'defective product' is one that is (a) not normally turning on and off, (b) made the car it is installed on dangerous to operate or inoperable with visible indicator or warning displayed on dashboard instrument, or (c) display is no longer functional as a result of a flaw or imperfection on material and/or workmanship. 

We will repair or replace the defective product if needed. We reserve rights to refuse such service in the cases of (1) Damage caused by Undue wear & tear, dirt, misuse, improper installation or operation, neglect, accident. (2) Any damages caused by improper packaging when buyer return the items to us. (3) If the item was disassembled or repaired by unauthorized persons. Software including your data is not under warranty.

For final sales and/or discontinuation notified item(s), we only guarantee that the product is free of defect for 14 days from its delivery date unless specified by presiding terms and conditions, and will offer only a repair or a replacement in the same product. It is not refundable for final sales items in any circumstance. 

The buyer must pay for the cost of any shipping fee for warranty service at their expense. We do not issue prepaid shipping labels. If the returned item is not applicable under warranty, the buyer will be responsible for all of the costs including, but not limited to, the repair and/or replacement costs and custom duties and taxes if incurred by the buyer's actions.

General Terms and Conditions

A. ALL THE PRODUCT OFFERED REQUIRES SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE OR PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE TO WORK AS ADVERTISED, AND THE BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACQUIRING/REMOVING/RETURN COST. RSNAV IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COST PAID BY YOU FOR SERVICE AND PRODUCT TO ACQUIRE THE DESIRED FUNCTION(S) FROM ANY RSNAV PRODUCT. 

B. It is the buyer's responsibility to check and verify if the product purchased is compatible with their vehicle.

C. A 20% restocking fee will be applied if you return your purchase, if RSNAV authorized personnel find no defects on the returned product.  

D. Refund will not be made for non-fitment with your vehicle, Please read item description carefully and make sure it is the right product for your car.

E. Taxes and Duties are entirely the responsibility of the buyer.  

F. A refund or replacement will be provided if you received a damaged item due to improper packaging. However, the shipping fees are not refundable. We will cover the return shipping fees if the default of damage is on us. 

G. All merchandise being send back must be returned in the original box, in an unused condition with all wires and accessories (no wear and tear present). After we test the unit, if there is a manufacturer's default, we will issue a refund.

H. Please read the electronically provided installation booklet carefully before the installation or seek professional installation help.

I. In case of a defective product dispute, The buyer must provide evidence(s) in the form of pictures or video files of the defective product and must demonstrate that the installation of the product was free of any error in the form of pictures or video files. We reserve the right to refuse any claim without any evidence(s) in the customer supplied picture or video files. 

J. Any damage done to your property while installing and operating our device is the buyer's responsibility unless it is proven by an appropriate government agency that our product is the direct cause of the damage. 

K. No replacement device can be sent before you return the faulty device. We cover all shipping fees, if and only if, you truly received a defective product. 

L. Obey laws and regulations applicable in your region while you are driving and do not operate any RSNAV device or let the device divert your attention from the road while operating your vehicle. Only operate an RSNAV device when stopped and it is safe to do so. RSNAV is not responsible for anything that may happen while you are driving and operating the device. 

Special Conditions Disclaimer

We will try to do our best to solve any problem for you, but we reserve the right to refuse any refund claims related to the declared conditions below after 15 days of receipt of the product, after which only a replacement may be offered with an arrangement.

1. Sound playback quality or noise issues may be present depending on the vehicle, especially if there are alternator problems or ground isolation issues present. We do not guarantee that our product will be free of any noise issues as poor installation or vehicle conditions can introduce noise or sound quality problems. 

2. Third party accessories (e.g CarPlay/Android Auto USB Dongle, Rear Camera, or any non-RSNAV manufactured accessories) may not work fully or as intended. We do not guarantee any functionality of third party accessories. In the case of an accessory failure due to the manufacturer's material and workmanship, we will replace it once or only refund the cost of the accessory.  

3. All our network capable product is Class B radio products under FCC regulation. Consequently, it is and it must be susceptible to any radio interference. Bluetooth/Wi-Fi function may be not fully functional if 2.4 GHz bands are congested or near a source of strong microwave interference such as an airport. 

4. In some models, SD card and SIM card slot are located on the back panel or SD card slot is not available. Access to existing slot(s) may be difficult. 

5. There may be some software bugs, as discovered every effort will be made to address these in future software updates. 

6. Background static noise, humming, radio and electronic interference apart from audio playback may occur depending on the vehicle condition, installation method, and operation.  

7. 3G/4G mobile network function may be limited or not functional depending on your mobile network carrier's policy or configuration. 

8. The item is an aftermarket product. We do not guarantee any cosmetic aspects such as the fitment, colour match of the item to your vehicle. The product colour may vary from the original trim, and it may not fit well. These aspects do not constitute 'a defective product' by the definition above.   

9. Installation is not included in the price. It's the buyer's responsibility to find a professional installer if necessary. 

10. Installed apps may require network connectivity to be functional and require periodic updates. Any data charges from your network, internet service provider are your responsibility. 

11. The device will draw power from your battery even if the engine stops and the ignition is turned off. The screen may not turn off for a while even if you leave the vehicle and lock it. This is normal. The device will automatically be turned off after a prescribed time of inactivity when the car is turned off.

12. Shipping paid is not refundable in any circumstance, except 'no-posting from RSNAV', like eBay Purchases ('You pay to try' basis).

13. All of our products are NOT a ready-to-play device. They can require special knowledge and/or professional help to achieve all of the advertised function(s). This can involve several hours of professional help and troubleshooting that you may have to pay additionally. RSNAV provides e-mail/telephone assistance, free of charge, by appointment only. Under no circumstances RSNAV will be responsible for any expenses you choose to pay to a third party. 

14. RETURN SHIPPING LABEL IS NOT PROVIDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. RETURN LABELS ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO PASS CUSTOMS INSPECTION THEREFORE RSNAV DOES NOT HAVE ABILITY TO ISSUE A RETURN LABEL OUTSIDE OF CANADA.

KEEP YOUR SHIPPING RECEIPT FOR ANY RETURNS. WE WILL REIMBURSE YOUR COST OF RETURN IF, AND ONLY IF, YOU RECEIVED A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND WE RECEIVE THE MERCHANDISE BACK IN AN ACCEPTIBLE CONDITION. UNAUTHORIZED RETURNS WILL BE REFUSED UPON RECEIPT BY RSNAV.

15. We reserve the right to designate a proper return address. Our instructions for return overrides any generic instructions from PayPal or your Credit Card Company. It is simple. We reimburse you when RSNAV receives the product back in an acceptable condition. 

16. Any failure of following the return instructions from Rsnav.com or their affiliate(s) will result in refusal of warranty, and deduction of any incurred or additional costs from the refund due. Rsnav.com is not responsible for any damage to you and your property by not following the instructions from RSNAV representatives in writing.

17. Rsnav.com reserves the right to cancel a device registration if payment has not been completed or declined after shipping its products.

For example, if you file a chargeback, Rsnav.com will cancel your device registration, and this will result in the suspension of being able to use the device. Every 5 minutes, an 'inactivation warning' will appear on the screen after the next scheduled software update. Rsnav.com will not reinstate any device that is not properly and completely paid for.

18. Special note related to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for RSNAV branded Android Systems 

APPLE INC, AND GOOGLE LLC. ARE PROVIDING SUCH SERVICE NAMELY 'CARPLAY' AND 'ANDROID AUTO' WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY THAT IT WILL WORK AS EXPECTED. NO AUTO MANUFACTURER IS ALLOWING THE BREACH OF A AUTOMOBILE SALES CONTRACT BECAUSE CARPLAY OR ANDROID AUTO IS NOT WORKING AS EXPECTED. THUS, RSNAV CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR CARPLAY OR ANDROID AUTO SERVICE MALFUNCTION AS THE NATURE OF THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY.

ALSO, CARPLAY AND ANDROID AUTO RELIES HEAVILY ON THE HOST MOBILE PHONE AND THEIR INSTABILITIES IS A COMMON ISSUE IN AUTOMOTIVE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM INDUSTRY IN GENERAL. THEREFORE, RSNAV.COM IS FREE OF ANY LIABILITY RELATED TO ISSUES WITH CARPLAY AND/OR ANDROID AUTO.

BY PURCHASING FROM RSNAV.COM, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS ON RSNAV.COM. IT IS SOLELY THE BUYER'S FREE WILL THAT YOU PURCHASE ANY PRODUCT FROM RSNAV.COM AND RSNAV.COM HAS CLEARLY NOTED THAT APPLE CARPLAY AND GOOGLE ANDROID AUTO SERVICE IS NOT A GUARANTEED FEATURE OF ITS ANDROID PRODUCT. CONSEQUENTLY, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE BEEN INFORMED ABOUT THESE SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND HAVE AGREED TO THEM BY PURCHASING FROM RSNAV.COM. 

The legal definition of Rsnav.com Android system product is an Android compatible car infotainment system screen replacement, not a CarPlay or Android Auto receiver.

FOR RSNAV ANDROID SYSTEM PRODUCT, THE FAILURE OF RUNNING APPLE CARPLAY OR ANDROID AUTO SERVICE IS NOT A VALID REASON FOR RETURN, REFUND OR WARRANTY CLAIM.

Apple CarPlay/Google Android Auto feature is not the service or product manufactured and designed by Rsnav.com and its factory. CarPlay and Android Auto available on any of the Rsnav.com Android Systems is offered without any warranty.

Unless it is approved by rsnav.com representative that the cause of CarPlay and Android Auto failure is due to a defective product defined above, you cannot claim any warranty service, refund or breach of contract solely because CarPlay/Android Auto is not working as you expected.

For example, you are NOT allowed to file any claim against Rsnav.com when Rsnav.com Android System is working normally and performing expected functions such as, but not limited to, working as a GPS receiver, running Android Navigation apps, playing music files over Bluetooth or from internal/external memory, playing movie files in common supported formats, and running common Android Apps that does not require special hardware or service, but only failing to run Apple CarPlay or Google Android Auto properly.

The buyer's purpose of the purchase whether it is expressed explicitly or implicitly is NOT a valid reason for any return, refund, or warranty service. For example, "I purchased Rsnav.com Android system solely on the purpose of running Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and CarPlay or Android Auto is not working as I expected" is not an allowed reason for the return, refund or warranty service for Rsnav.com Android System.

For example, Acceptable reasons are like the following: (However, not limited to these): Android system arrived physically broken or Android system hardware is not turning ON properly or displaying properly.(e.g. Screen is randomly turning on and off and/or the screen shows electrical noise patterns in general Android mode.)

 In the case of CarPlay or Android Auto service failure due to the failure of Rsnav.com supplied third party products and service such as zBox, AutoPlay USB dongles, 'Head unit Reloaded', 'Z-link' software, Rsnav.com will refund only the cost of the third party product and service. 

UNLESS THE LAWS OF QUEBEC PROHIBITS, THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN RSNAV.COM PRESIDES ANY OTHER REGULATION OR LAW OF BUYER'S JURISDICTION OF HIS/HER PRIMARY RESIDENCE.

In no case shall RS Nav, our directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, interns, suppliers, service providers or licensors be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including, without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising from your use of any of the service or any products procured using the service, or for any other claim related in any way to your use of the service or any product, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of the service or any content (or product) posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the service, even if advised of their possibility. Because some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such states or jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless RS Nav and our parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, officers, directors, agents, contractors, licensors, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers, interns and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third-party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms of Service or the documents they incorporate by reference, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third-party.

SECTION 15 - SEVERABILITY

In the event that any provision of these Terms of Service is determined to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, such provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed to be severed from these Terms of Service, such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.

SECTION 16 - TERMINATION

The obligations and liabilities of the parties incurred prior to the termination date shall survive the termination of this agreement for all purposes.
These Terms of Service are effective unless and until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate these Terms of Service at any time by notifying us that you no longer wish to use our Services, or when you cease using our site.
If in our sole judgment you fail, or we suspect that you have failed, to comply with any term or provision of these Terms of Service, we also may terminate this agreement at any time without notice and you will remain liable for all amounts due up to and including the date of termination; and/or accordingly may deny you access to our Services (or any part thereof).
