RSNAV S5 PRO/ULTIMATE SOFTWARE UPDATE

Release Date: April 29, 2026 | Status: ONLINE

[ Key Enhancements ]

  • Application Updates: Updated Z-LINK v6.x, New DSP App (replaces EQ), and CarInfo (includes G-Meter). Netflix
  • System Optimization: Resolved CAN BUS overloading issues and refined MCU power-up/shutdown logic.
  • User Interface: Improved Upper Menu Bar and Steering Wheel '*' Key customization.
  • More volume control scenarios

Note on DSP APP:
This DSP only works when the sound is going through Audi Auxiliary Input or SPDIF output of RSNAV. If you are using Audi Bluetooth for music streaming, this function is not applicable.
DSP is set to work best when Android Volume Control is disabled in car settings app or Android volume is set to 32 (or about 70%). Audi MMI's AKM ADC chip is not capable of processing high frequency inputs from our TI DAC, thus, there could be echo or THD noise when the output volume is too high.

⚠️ CRITICAL: BEFORE YOU START

This update will wipe your existing factory settings.

  • MUST DO: Before proceeding, take clear photos of your current Android Settings, Car Mode Settings, and MCU Settings.
  • REASON: The device will operate erroneously if these settings are not manually restored after the update.

🛠 INSTALLATION STEPS

1. Preparation

  • This specific update process takes longer than usual. It is normal. Do not interrupt or power off the device until everything is complete.
  • Download the update file and extract the contents directly to the root directory of a USB drive (Formatted as FAT32 or exFAT).
  • Go to Car Settings > Version Information to initiate the update.

2. Update Sequence (Strict Order Required)
To ensure system integrity, you must perform the updates in the following specific order:

Firstly, SYSTEM Update and then MCU Update
NOTE:
Once the MCU update is complete and the system begins to reboot, remove the USB drive.
Do NOT pull it out during the actual update process.

🚨 POST-INSTALLATION FINAL STEPS

1. Factory Default Restore

  • After the system starts normally, you MUST perform a 'Factory Default Restore' in the settings menu. New features will not function without this step.
  • After the system starts up with the welcome screen, check on 'Do not remind' and skip it. Then let the system idle for 5 minutes. In the background, new apps will be installed. If you operate device before the apps installed, do perform the factory default restore again.

2. Google Play Protect Prompt

  • During the initial setup, a prompt regarding "unverified apps" will appear. You MUST choose "INSTALL ANYWAY".
  • If you decline, critical apps (DSP, Z-LINK, 360 Viewer) will not be installed, and you will need to perform another factory restore.

3. Factory Configuration Import (Final Step)

  • Re-insert the USB drive into the device.
  • When the "Factory Config Import" prompt appears, select Import and allow the system to reboot.
  • After rebooting, manually restore your Android, Car Mode, and MCU settings using the photos you took earlier.
  • For 9inch 1280x720 version, please set Factory Settings -> MCU -> Screen Type: KS08 for optimized aspect ratio.
