I am thrilled to share a major milestone for RSNAV: the working engineering prototype of the world's first HiFi MOST audio gateway designed for Audi 3G MMI and MIB2 factory sound systems.
What does it do?
This module delivers a pure, unadulterated digital audio signal from any S/PDIF source—including our RSNAV S5 Pro and Ultimate systems—directly into your Audi's factory MOST network benefitting the Standard sound system with MOST(3G MMI high and high plus models), Premium Bose ,and the high end Bang and Olufsen sound systems.
The Cirrus Logic ASRC Advantage
The defining feature that sets this apart from any existing aftermarket solution is the integration of an Asynchronous Sample Rate Converter (ASRC). Conventional aftermarket audio interfaces rely on their own internal master clocks. Eventually, this leads to jitter and audio degradation due to frequency misalignment with the vehicle's system.
Our gateway solves this entirely. By utilizing ASRC, the audio stream synchronizes perfectly with the Audi original system's master clock. The result is zero ticking, zero distortion, and the ability to finally unlock the absolute full potential of your factory amplifier.
Bypassing the Analog Bottleneck
While the RSNAV S5 Pro and Ultimate systems already deliver fantastic sound through their high-end Texas Instruments analog audio components, they have always faced a built-in bottleneck: Audi's factory AKM ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter), which inherently suffers from frequency distortion at higher volumes. With this new digital gateway, we bypass the analog conversion entirely, making that distortion a thing of the past.
Furthermore, establishing a fully digital sound path is a critical step forward for maximizing the potential of Dolby Atmos and DTS surround sound in our latest software.
This project is currently in the engineering alpha stage, and production availability is TBA. However, creating this pure digital path has been a lingering dream of mine since the very day I founded RSNAV nine years ago. I simply couldn't wait to share that this dream has finally become a reality.
